WASP: adOPTION OF ECO-INNOVATIONS

WASP is an Interreg EU project to boost the adoption of wind propulsated technologies in the maritime industry

the goal of my implication in the wasp project

Through Agent-Based Modeling, this study models the effects of different policy and market scenarios (carbon taxes, subsidies and fuel prices) in shipping towards the adoption of WASP retrofitting solutions. As expansion from previous research, Bass diffusion theory and social network is used through the model of an heterogeneous sample of vessels and three different types of WASP technology. The study expand previous knowledge by integrating into the modeling, real world data about technology costs and fuel savings as part of an European Union (EU) funded project to test five pilots of three different types of WASP in the North Sea Region.
